| According to the documents released by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, a concise introduction is provided regarding the nomenclature of coordination compounds. The main contents cover the basic procedure for naming coordination compounds, the rules for writing the central atom and ligands, the identification of ligand coordination modes, the ordering of ligand names, and the conventions for writing molecular formulas, among others. The nomenclature of polynuclear coordination compounds and coordination polymers are also briefly introduced in this article. |
